Foreword
The IABM Industry Guide is brought to you as part of our service to the industry.
As the international trade association for the broadcast and media technology sector it is part of our remit to provide valuable reference data and resource to support decision making and facilitate an understanding of the rapidly changing environment in which the broadcast sector finds itself.
As we recover and move tentatively forward out of a global recession we have to come to terms with a different mindset to doing business. Risk aversion, ROI, procurement policy changes are impacting on how broadcast buyers engage with suppliers and lower working capital availability, stock outages up and downstream and skills shortages are affecting some suppliers’ ability to maintain consistent and timely output.
With the continued progress of IT convergence and outsourced facilities into the sector, the rapid progress of the ‘three screen’ environment, the uptake of HD and the continued march of 3D, we are certainly living in interesting and challenging times.
Knowledge is absolutely key in this dynamic environment and our ongoing commitment to the provision of the very best of market and commercial intelligence has seen the launch of segmented reports and specialist reports and webinars this year and in early 2011 we will once again benchmark and size the industry through the launch of our latest Global Market Valuation & Strategy Report to 2015, the definitive valuation report for the broadcast sector. Our other research and trends reports continue to keep our members informed of the pace and direction of change in the industry and help them make the strategic decisions required to keep their businesses at the leading edge.
Produced in partnership with the Global Media Alliance, our Industry Guide this year provides you with a plethora of interesting articles and case studies to keep you informed. We have added a comprehensive Glossary of Terms (courtesy of Quantel) and a reference directory with the contact details of all IABM members who combined represent around 80% of the revenue generated in the supply sector.
So please take time to read the IABM Industry Guide and then keep it close by for future reference. Should you require any further information or assistance then visit
