Infected by the VW virus at the tender age of 16, 39-year- old photographer Axel Struwe, from Bielefeld in Germany, now owns a succession of cool VWs including this extremely rare 1950 Barndoor Panel Van

Welcome to perhaps the best Type 2 restoration we’ve ever seen. Manufactured in November 1950 and bearing the chassis number 20-06751, Axel Struwe’s Barndoor is ranked as the 27th oldest known surviving Volkswagen Type 2. Purchased in 2004 from a collector in Holland, this amazing Bus started life as service vehicle at Vienna airport.
