Registration Guide 2015 - 2016


As you are a new first year student in NUI Galway, we need to collect some information about you. You need to update all fields marked with the asterix *. Domiciliary of Origin is the student’s country of permanent residency prior to entry to the programme of study. It is not necessarily the correspondence/term address. Neither is it the same as their nationality and does not alter as they progress through their academic career e.g. a Polish person comes to Ireland 2 weeks prior to commencing a higher education course. While their nationality is Polish and their correspondence address is in Ireland, their country of permanent residence is still Poland. Only in the case where students have been residing in Ireland for 3 years or more prior to commencing their course would their Domiciliary of Origin be Ireland. Their Domiciliary of Origin must not change throughout the duration of their study.

I want to load my photo online.


What do I need to do?


You must upload an appropriate front facing photo of yourself which will be used on your student ID card - you can do so here. Please note that this card is valid for the duration of your programme.

If the photo file is too large it will not be accepted and you will be asked for a smaller file. The maximum size of the photo which you can load is 300kb. All files must be in JPEG format. For photo guidelines see http://www.nuigalway.ie/ registration/photo_guidelines.html


To upload your photo you must: l


Click browse and search for your photo in the location where your photo is stored.

Click on your photo and choose your file type and click open Click upload

Press Browse to select the photo and then press open and upload to load the photo and then press ‘Continue’ to move to the next stage.


1.3 What do I need to do?


I don’t want to load my photo.


You can skip this part of online registration if you don’t want to load a photo now - however you must log back into the online


registration www.nuigalway.ie/reg before the 28th August 2015 and upload your photo.
