Expanding Shamanic Knowledge Worldwide

Started in 1979 by anthropologist Dr. Michael Harner, this non-profit organization’s threefold mission includes several important programs. To preserve shamanic knowledge, the FSS supports in-

digenous shamans whose knowledge is in danger of being lost with annual lifetime stipends through the Living Treasures Project. When invited by indigenous people, the Foundation helps recover and revitalize shamanic practices via the In- digenous Assistance Project. Lastly, the FSS documents and records irreplaceable shamanic knowledge and practices

Rainbow From Heaven Celebrates

he Rainbow From Heaven Healing Center is celebrating its seven-year anni-

versary with a special open house Saturday, June 12, featuring a wide range of healing practitioners, along with raffles and draw- ings, networking and refreshments. Visitors to the free event can discover

many vendors offering spiritual counsel- ing, sound healing, animal communication, chair massage, acupuncture, jewelry and much more. “It is in gratitude that we have reached the seven-year

mark,” said Debra Cohen, the Center’s owner. “Many people are facing difficult times right now, like losing a job, and they enter our doors for a safe, healing environment. It’s very rewarding to know you’re helping contribute to the community.”
