A Glass a Day Keeps Prostate Cancer Away?

These 46 men were instructed to drink eight ounces of pome- granate juice daily. To measure the effect of pomegranate juice, the men had their PSA and blood lev- els of antioxidants measured. After drinking pomegranate juice daily, the men had reduced PSA levels and a significant slowing of the rate of PSA rise.

This study also showed that drinking pomegranate juice reduced cancer growth in cell cultures. Additionally, pomegranate juice was shown to be an effective antioxi- dant. Given these exciting results, further investigation into reducing prostate cancer growth by drinking pomegranate juice is currently underway. Pomegranate juice could be a tasty addition to your diet and a great way to introduce cancer-fighting chemicals to your body daily. If your doctors are “watchfully waiting” a rising PSA, a glass of pomegranate juice may be benefi- cial. Salute!
