Burn calories, not carbon in Cape Town
Cape Grace, the South African luxury hotel situated on its own private quay in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront of Cape Town, has joined forces with Bike & Saddle, Africa’s leading eco-active travel company. The hotel, designed by South Africa’s most
prominent interior designer, Kathi Weixelbaumer, now offers its guests a new way of exploring Cape Town, which is not only active but also environmentally-friendly. Bike & Saddle have put together an exclusive
night ride for Cape Grace guests: Departing nightly at 6pm, guided tours take guests past the vibrant waterfront, making their way along the iconic Cape Town Stadium with the rolling surf of the Atlantic lapping at their wheels, before turning towards the historic Company Gardens, Long Street cafes, bars and picturesque Malay Quarter of the Bo-Kaap. The bike ride experience is followed by a water
taxi, with sparkling wine, before returning to the hotel to enjoy gourmet delicacies at Bascule Bar, the world-renowned whisky and wine emporium, used as a location shot in the film Blood Diamond. Cape Grace’s guests are then invited to enjoy the
view of the international marina and the iconic Table Mountain or settle down for dinner in the hotel’s signature restaurant Signal, where Executive Chef Malika van Reenen creates delicious dishes from locally sourced ingredients paired with beautiful wines from the neighbouring wine region. There is also a heated outdoor pool and a luxury

Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority will debut at ALTM with an impressive showcase of Caesars Palace’s recently re-launched ‘Garden of Gods’, eight pool experiences on five acres named after the Greek Gods and Goddesses. Designed by famed hospitality firm Allard & Conversano, the ‘Garden of the Gods’ is
situated on three levels at the heart of Caesars Palace. Decorated with classically inspired landscaping, statues and fountains, it allows guests to find their own experience; from those looking to socialise and connect at the stylish new Fortuna Bar to those who want to enjoy relaxing with a poolside massage. Engineers precisely tracked the movement of the sun and expanded south and
westward to ensure the area offers both a sun-trap while providing areas of shade too. The highlight of the ‘Garden of Gods’ is the new Fortuna pool, which features an 18-foot waterfall and where guests can swim-up to Black Jack tables. Besides the extravagant new pools, there are 44 new private cabanas, each with a
stocked refrigerator of juice and water, flat-screen TV, DVD player, iPod docking station, wireless internet access, ceiling fan and plush furniture. With hundreds of new vibrant blue deck chairs, luxurious daybeds and loveseat-inspired scoop chairs, guests can even just keep it simple and do nothing else but enjoy a day of sun-worshipping. In addition, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority will be promoting the recently
opened CityCenter, one of the latest developments bringing a new level of environmental consciousness to the world-famous Strip. This extraordinary urban building will be much more than a collection of resorts and residences; it will be a welcoming environment for people to gather, relax and enjoy. Conceived to bring a true centre to The Strip, CityCenter Great pedestrian corridors,
dynamic public spaces, authentic richness and diversity of experiences will resonate with the energy of one of the world’s most exciting places. CityCenter’s public Fine Art Collection will also engage passers-by, with works by world-renowned artists such as
Maya Lin or Nancy Rubins hung in CityCenter’s walkways, hotels and residences.■
