1● 63rd CANNES FILM FESTIVAL:
The glitterati are frocking up for another Festival season, in the home of ILTM, Cannes, and the rivalry for the Palme D’Or has never been hotter. Heading up the prestigious film awards this year is British Director, Tim Burton, as President of the Jury, who along with Hollywood starlets, Kate Beckinsale and Benicio Del Toro will be judging the 18 films all vying for the prize. 2● GIORGIO ARMANI: Italian fashion
designer, Giorgio Armani has teamed up with Dubai’s giant property developer, Emaar, to launch his latest venture in the world’s tallest tower, in Dubai. Although while the building (and the prices) are sky high (it stands at 828m tall), this is one hotel that is true to its designers simple but elegant vision. The hotel itself is created in shades of black and brown, with no paintings on the walls to clutter the minimalist atmosphere. Other hotel projects on the way for Armani include

the opening in Milan in 2011, and development of his Armani private residences in Marrakech and Marassi,

4 ● BMW: Not content to rule the roads, BMW have leant their designer skills to Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. The new Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 look more like the a limousine and less like a light air-craft, thanks to BMW’s Designworks USA. According to Embraer, the exercise had more to do with the translation of
ideals rather than
