2 2010 LAKEFRONT FESTIVAL of ARTS ♥
www.mam.org/lfoa
elcome to the 48th annual Lakefront Festival of Arts presented by Quad/
Graphics and Milwaukee Magazine. We are thrilled to showcase the 181 talented artists, including 19 who are displaying in Windhover Hall under the Burke Brise Soleil, a new feature for this year! We would like to thank our 2010 poster artist, Shelby Keefe, for creating her fabulous painting, Unfurled, for this year’s festivities. Lakefront Festival of Arts could not
happen without the generous support of our sponsors and the dedication of hundreds of volunteers. It’s through their passion for the arts that Friends of Art can use the festival’s net proceeds to purchase pieces for the Museum and sponsor excit- ing exhibitions from around the world. During our work on this year’s festival,
we discovered the many ways Lakefront Festival of Arts and Friends of Art have helped the Milwaukee Art Museum grow into a creative resource for our community and solidify itself as a Milwaukee icon. We hope you take advantage of the program- ming we’ve created to come meet artists from all over the country and discover new worlds within the walls of the Museum. Ask a docent how Friends of Art has
helped shape the face of the Museum. Better yet, ask one of our Ambassadors of the Festival (look for the red vests!) and hear what you might have missed before you leave. Again, welcome to this year’s celebra-
tion. We look forward to seeing you at the lakefront and enjoying the festivities in the magnifi cent Museum.
