A HOLY GHOST

I

BY JANICE CLAYPOOLE

DELUGE IS COMING

N A TIME of spiritual darkness, the Enemy is spreading evil propaganda of gloom and despair. His message is one of defeat. Satan preaches that the Church has seen its last days and there will be no more great moves of God. Satan thinks he hears the death rattles of the Church, but what he is really hearing is the rumble of spiritual thunder and the tremors of an old-time Holy Ghost out-

pouring. He is also hearing the sound of God’s remnant people rising to their feet and coming together as a mighty army. This tried-in-the-fire remnant people have survived the shaking and have been marked by Ezekiel’s man in linen (Ezekiel 9:3), and they are getting ready to take the land. They have climbed the pro- phetic mountain in 1 Kings 18:42-44 one time, two times, three times, four times, five times, six times—on their knees in intercessory prayer. They have been look- ing and praying for a great last-day move of God.

This is the seventh time up the pro- phetic mountain. Their spiritual eyesight

Jesus told His disciples to go to Jerusalem, wait there, and they would be filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49). We are living in a prophetic time when God is looking for people who do

WAS TAKEN by the simplicity of a guest minister’s statement in a Sunday evening service as he addressed the subject of acting on faith. He said, “If you know what God is going to do, and when and where He is going to do it, all you have to do is show up to receive the benefit of that experience.”

The Bible is filled with examples of this kind of faith. In the Old Testament, Jeremiah bought property in Jerusalem at the beginning of the Babylonian Captivity, signaling that Israel would one day return to her land (Jeremiah 32:8-15); Elisha was promised a double portion of the anointing that was on Elijah if he stayed with Elijah (2 Kings 2:9-10). In the New Testament, Saul of Tarsus was told to wait on God in Damascus, where he was filled with the Holy Spirit and had his sight restored (Acts 9:6-18); 10 days before Pentecost,

is keen. They see on the horizon a cloud about the size of a man’s hand. They are prophesying, “Get ready—it’s going to rain!” They are crying out, “Sharpen your sickles to reap the last-day harvest before the coming of the Lord!” Signs are going to follow the believers in a mighty way. The world is going to know God is alive and well, and in control. The Church is not going out with any less power than when it was birthed.

not just from ecclesiastical leaders, but from ordinary people—teenagers, boys and girls, individuals who work at menial jobs, old men and young, women preachers and girl prophets.

“in these last days, there is an abundance of a fresh word and an anointing of the Holy Spirit to win souls; and this will come not just from ecclesiastical leaders, but from ordinary people—teenagers, boys and girls, individuals who work at menial jobs, old men and young, women preachers and girl prophets.”

not doubt His promises. The question is, “What is the Holy Spirit saying to the Church?” The answer is found in Acts 2:17-18: “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will proph- esy” (NIV).

The “what” of this prophecy is that in these last days, there is an abundance of a fresh word and an anointing of the Holy Spirit to win souls; and this will come

The prophecy is that God will pour out His Spirit “on all people.”

The “where” is the field that God has called us to; the “when” is now. What an exciting time to be in the right place at the right time, knowing that we have been chosen, like the prophets of old, for the greatest harvest of all history!
