David proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Alma Joan Tolins (age 79), resident of Fairfax, Virginia since 1964, formerly of Brooklyn and Queens, New York. She passed away at FairfaxHospital on Monday, July 13, 2009, following a cerebral hemmorrhage. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the only child of Lilian and Barney Lichtman. She was married to Alfred D. Tolins from 1955 until their divorce in 1981. Alma was a founding member of Fairfax Community Theatre in the 60s and 70s, and acted both in local community and professional theatre through the 1990s. She graduated from Erasmus High School and Brooklyn College in New York City, where she earned a Master's Degree in Art Education. She taught art in NewYork City public schools. In 1964 she moved with her family to Fairfax, VA. In the early 80s she earned a second Masters Degree, in Art Therapy, from George Washington University. She worked as an Art Therapist, first at Chestnut Lodge in Rockville, MDfor 10 years, then at Psychiatric institute of Washington until her retirement in the late 90s. She was an expert knitter, an avid reader, and loved cats. She is survived by her two beloved daughters, Amy Ilene Mann of Centreville, VA and Victoria Tolins of Fairfax, VA. She is also survived by her beloved son-in-law, Harold W. Mann, Jr., and her two beloved grandsons, Gregory Aaron Mann and Alexander Joel Mann. She also leaves behind her eight precious cats. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 17 at 3:30 p.m., at Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation in Reston, VA. Pat passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 of ovarian cancer.A Busi- ness Adm. graduate from Rutgers University, Pat worked as Spanish translator for RCA International, and later asWage & Salary Coordi-
nator for RCA Victor Recording Studios in New York City. While living in Tokyo, she attended Sophia University to continue her studies in literature. The 19th Century English Novel was her special area of interest, and she ultimately received a 2nd degree in English Lit. from GMU. Intrigued by the life and choices of Robert E. Lee during the Civil War, Pat was a volunteer docent at the Lee Boyhood Home in Alexandria until the beautiful home was sold into private hands. Pat spent more than 30 years in the airline industry, starting in Lufthansa's Indianapolis Sales office and later moving to Allegheny/USAir for 10 years. USAir transferred her to the Washington Executive Offices in 1973. In the early '80s she moved to United Airlines where she spent nearly 20 very happy years. At United, Pat served in many capacities within the Mid-Atlantic Reservations Office. She worked on compiling and codifying baggage service procedures and training Bag Desk personnel, as well as serving on the travel agency and international sales desks and in various administrative positions. After retiring from United, Pat worked for five years for Red Capital Group in Reston, VA. She is survived by her beloved husband, Herb, her precious children Lisa, Sonya (Mitch) and Ari (Carly), and her grandchildren Joshua and Jessica. Ordained June 15, 1961. The Rev. Harold C. Bradley, Assistant to the Vice President for Federal Relations at Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis- consin, died Friday, July 10, 2009, at the St. Camillus Community. He was 84 years old.

Fr. Bradley devoted his life to building better human conditions for the disadvantaged of the world. In the Jesuit tradition, he believed firmly that the means to do this was through education; and he was a driving force in designing and deploying many programs throughout the world with the common theme of enabling through education and local development or skills, talent, and resources.
At Marquette, among programs he started or touched were the Kenyan “Train the Trainer” program in which nurses received training for AIDS/HIV patients, the “Anacrobic Digestion/Poop- to-Power” program, a campus beautification and native tree project, an Indian Tribal magazine, and most recently the Haiti Sustainability project, which aspires to bring clean water and public restrooms to the country of Haiti.

After graduation, he was drafted into the Army and soon became a commissioned officer. He served as an Army Ranger instructor before assignment to Vietnam as a Ranger reconnaissance platoon leader with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was a Master Parachutist and was awarded more than nine military decorations, including the Purple Heart and three separate Bronze Stars for Valor. He earned two Masters Degrees while in the Army- - one in Business from Central Michigan University, and another in Congressional Studies from The Catholic University. He was also a graduate of the Army’s NationalWar College.
FRANK NORTON (Age 66)
Frank Norton, 66, a career soldier, U.S. Senate professional staff member and respectedWashing- ton, DC consultant died of a heart attack June 30 while on vacation with his family in Highlands, NC.
Mr. Norton was a partner in the firm of Hurt, Norton&Associates, aWashington-based company that he co-founded with his good friend Robert Hurt in 1997. He was instrumental in developing the firm into a major corporate consulting, lobby- ing and marketing firm with more than 45 clients nationwide.

At the time of his retirement from the Army he was serving as the Principal Deputy to the Secretary of the Army for U.S. Senate Liaison. He was the only Army officer to serve in that position for both the Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. He retired as a Colonel with 26 years of service.
Upon his military retirement in 1993, he was appointed to serve as a professional staff member on the Senate Armed Services Committee by then Committee Chairman Senator Sam Nunn of Georgia. Mr. Norton served in that position until Senator Nunn’s retirement from the Senate in 1997.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Keatley Norton, and his son, Lee Crawley Norton of St. Simons Island, and cousins Jane and Jerome Crawley ofWaycross, GA, and Al Trogdon of Dover Bluff, GA. Services previously held.
Prior to joining Marquette, Fr. Bradley was at Georgetown University from 1971-1995. He held the positions of Assistant to the President on Federal Relations, Director of the Office of International Programs, and Founder & Director, Center for Immigration Policy and Refugee Assis- tance (CIPRA). Among the programs that he forged during his time included the Central Amer- ican Scholarship Program (CASP), the DC Schools Project, the Vietnamese Entrepreneur Training Program, the Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Interpreting Service, Foreign Student Assistance, Friends of Solidarity, the Southeast Asian Refugee Relief, and Study Abroad. He has been published extensively and honored by presidents of many countries, including former President Ronald Rea- gan, Noble Peace Prize winners Lech Walesa of Poland, and Oscar Arias of Costa Rica.

He joined the Society of Jesus at St. Stanislaus Seminary in Florissant, Mo, in 1949, and was ordained 1961 in St. Mary’s, Kansas. He also received his MA and Ph.D. in American History from St. Louis University.
During his training, Fr. Bradley was assigned to various teaching and administration positions around the U.S. and abroad, including Kapaun Jesuit High School in Wichita, KS; Director of Latin American Programs and Teacher of History at St. Louis University, administrator and teacher in Quito, Ecuador, Cali, Columbia, and Mexico City, Mexico.
Fr. Bradley is survived by his sister, Celia Bradley, and brother, Frank Bradley, both of Kansas City. His two other sisters, Catherine Bradley McQueeny, and Mary O. Bradley proceeded him in death. He has 14 nieces and nephews, and 26 great nieces and nephews – all who adored, respected and admired him until the very last moment of his life. Also lovingly remembered by friends and his Jesuit Brothers.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held in Wauwatosa, WI on July 13, 2009. Fr. Bradley was laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Jesuit Partnership Appreciated.

She was the beloved wife for 65 years of Richard Gregory Fazakerley, Major General, USA (Ret.); devoted mother of Veronica Herc- zogh of Burke, VA, Greg Fazakerley and his wife, Candy of Middleburg, VA, Robert Fazak- erley and his wife, Nancy of Mechanicsburg, PA and Susan Fazakerley Smullen of Fairfax City,VA; sister of John McCarthy, Helen Owens, Elizabeth Tonge and Maurice McCarthy, all of California. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, where the family will be present on Saturday, July 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a prayer service.
