Festival Guide
Spring is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy one of the many festivals in our local area. We have a wide range of festivals centered around everything from live music and performance arts to paddling and outdoor sports. Here’s a quick guide on the festivals in our area:
FRENCH BROAD RIVER FEST— MAY 1-2
Located in Hot Springs, this annual festival has grown steadily from a one-night benefit party on the banks of the French Broad to an all-weekend family festival featuring some of the best music in the area and a number of outdoor events in celebration of this beautiful river. It also benefits American Whitewater and the Hot Springs Community Learning Center.
LEAF FESTIVAL—MAY 6-9 AND OCTOBER 14-17
Taking place at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, N.C., the Lake Eden Arts Festival is aimed at connecting cultures and creating community through music and the arts. It celebrates a wide range of arts including dance, poetry, healing arts, culinary arts, and music.
MOUNTAIN SPORTS FEST–MAY 28-30
Located at Carrier Park in Asheville, N.C., the Mountain Sports Festival celebrates a variety of outdoor sports including running, adventure racing, paddling, and even disc golf. In the festival village, there’s live music and refreshments. Diamond Brand will host a kayak attainment race this year.
ROCKIN’ RIVER FEST—AUGUST 1
This festival takes place at French Broad River Park in Asheville, N.C., and features an ever-popular river raft competition, music competition featuring local bands, local food and beverages, kayak demonstrations, and more. The festival benefits Riverlink, a non-profit spearheading economic and environmental revitalization along the French Broad River.
Diamond Brand supports local outdoor festivals, such as the ones listed above. Stop by our booth at these festivals for give-away items, information, coupons, and any last- minute camping supplies.
