Perfect Partners
Dancing and marketing might seem like a tenuous link, so what can marketers learn from dancing? To be great dancers you need a good partnership and teamwork. If you have ever watched ‘Dancing on Ice’ or ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ you will have heard the judges talk about the connection between the couple and how they work together to ‘present’ the dance. We believe marketing is similar; you need to build up a connection with your audience and have great teamwork with your colleagues and marketing partners to be able to develop the best project possible.
Did you know that the Viennese Waltz was considered scandalous when it began? The slow (or English) waltz was invented in 1921 to be able to keep dancing partners in a more formal arm position. Innovative or radical ideas are often adapted to more accepted and user friendly forms.
Apprenticeships
Are you hiring? Have you thought of apprenticeships? Taurus is recruiting and has decided to turn some of the positions into apprenticeships. As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job, usually on a day-release basis, apprentices receive training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications. Anyone living in England, over 16 and not in full-time education can apply. In future issues, we will share our experience, and hope to hear from anyone who already employs apprentices.
