GREG HARKINS
Greg Harkins' chairs are owned by presidents, the Pope and other high-profile
personalities. He has preserved the art of handmade green wood chairs following
century old designs. His oak chairs with their cane seats and backs bring back a part
of American history from the days of the Civil War. Greg s shop is in Canton,
Mississippi.
PLANTATION ROCKER
This design dates from the 1800's and is a
woodturner's delight. The legs and rocker
are all red oak. The rattan/cane weaving
can be easily accomplished with a little
practice. You will find this chair to be very
comfortable to sit in.

WEDDING ROCKER
This is one of Greg's most popular rockers
because it seats two comfortably. The
turnings are very similar to the plantation
rocker, and the weaving follows the same
pattern as the Plantation Rocker.

NANNY ROCKER
This rocking chair with the baby cradle
extension has its place in history. The
Shakers crafted one design, and earlier
Windsor chairs were also designed to
accommodate a cradle. This rocker can
easily become a family heirloom.
