Kidney StonesInside
Kidney stones are hard masses on the inside of your kidneys. They are made up of crystals in your urine and can be as small as a grain of sand or as big as a golf ball.
How It Works
1 You have too much of certain crystals made of minerals, acids or salts in your urine. These tightly packed crystals stick together and form stones.
2 The chemicals that normally keep these crystals from sticking together don’t work like they should.

Small stones usually travel from your kidney through your ureter and bladder, and pass out of your body painlessly when you urinate. Larger stones can also pass, but they’ll cause severe pain as they do. More rarely, they may get stuck, blocking the flow of urine or causing an infection.
