Don’t cut calcium.
Eating dairy products and other high- calcium foods doesn’t cause calcium stones. It helps prevent them. Calcium binds with extra oxalate before it can get to your kidneys, so there’s less in your urine to form stones.
Get 1,000 mg of calcium a day. Go to
HealthyAdvice.com/CalciumFoods for a list of high-calcium foods to add to your diet.
Check your diet. Certain foods and drinks can increase your risk of stones. For example, high-oxalate foods increase the oxalate in your urine, where it combines with calcium to form stones.
