Foreword
We are an Assembly Government Sponsored Body and employ over 1,000 staff
throughout Wales.
Our work includes tackling flooding and pollution incidents; reducing industry’s
impacts on the environment; cleaning up rivers, coastal waters and contaminated
land; and improving wildlife habitats.
Our operating budget for 2008-2009 for protecting, regulating and improving the
environment was £93 million.
The following pages highlight some of our achievements in 2008-2009. You can
