What future changes can you foresee in the
print industry that will have a direct effect
on publishers – beneficial or otherwise!
marketing solutions
There are a huge number of new innovations
that will change the way a publisher
communicates with the end user. Increasingly,
publishers are utilising digital media in
tandem with the printed item as a vehicle
to reaching a wider audience. Publishers will
also increasingly recognise the benefits of
creating a Personalised URL (PURL), backed
up with a personalised document.
As the demand increases for more highly-
targeted marketing mediums, I can see
marketing via text message, and the use of
online magazines, increasing. In line with this,
the smarter print companies will diversify
to keep up with the trends, and will add
complete media solutions to their offerings.
Watch this space, too, for the further
evolution of electronic paper. Again, if the
pitfalls can be overcome, I think this will have
a big impact on the industry in the future.
