Hunter Valley Riding Academy Lakeside • (619) 518-7276 huntervalleyriding.com

Why can’t your horse read the sign? Nothing makes a horse miserable faster than a rider whose aides and/or position are in confl ict with their intended message. T ese confl icts in com- munication can be very obvious or very subtle, but correcting them is crucial for getting the most out of your horse. Controlling the horse can seem like a piece of cake compared to con- trolling our own body position and movement. Says Amy Drinco, who operates Hunter

Valley Riding Academy at Heartland Ranch: “It is a wonderful facility on 16 acres with huge corrals and grass paddocks—the horses love it here and I am blessed with an amazing group of clients!” With a program based on correct, centered position and strong basics, Hunter Val- ley Riding Academy welcomes riders of all ages and skill levels. While HVRA is predominately a hunter-jumper barn, it also teaches dressage, combined training and even western.
