To be successful, health systems, their
procurers and suppliers must work collab- oratively to ly defi ne the value to be delivered, how improvements (whether
direct or indirect) will be attributed to the suppliers solutionintervention and how this will be measured. Further, simplic- ity over complexity, transparency over opaqueness, strategic over transactional relationships and leadership within and outside the supply chain function are key to developing long-term value-added part- nerships. Maintaining the status quo is not an option if we are to deliver sustainable healthcare for the 21st
century and beyond.
