Mesa Community College Performing Arts Center
The Dunn-Edwards Manufactur- ing & Distribution Center proved to be one of the most technolog- ically advanced. The $21 million, 355,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in Phoenix incorporates over 2,000 automated valves and 100 tanks. Layton utilized build- ing information modeling (BIM) to coordinate all project elements.
The firm has been recognized by major industry associations. Completed
in 2015, the $12
million Mesa Community College Performing Arts Center is a 60,000-sq.-ft. venue that incor- porates unique architectural and environmentally friendly features. The project was honored with Arizona Real Estate Magazine’s 2015 RED Awards Best Redevel- opment Project.
The NAIOP Commercial Real Es-
tate Development Association’s Arizona Chapter recognized two Layton projects for
its annual
2015 Best of NAIOP Awards. The Vemma Nutrition Company project received the Office Tenant Improvement of the Year and the Macy’s Fulfillment
Center
Expansion was named Industrial Tenant Improvement of the Year. The 50,000-sq.-ft. Vemma build- ing, which comprises office, retail and technical space, was com- pleted in a 13-week schedule. The Layton team completed the $17 million,
360,000-sq.-ft. Macy’s
Fulfillment Center Expansion in Goodyear, AZ in just six months in order to meet the company’s demands for the holiday season.
THE COMMUNITY CONNECTION
One of the core values of the
Executive Leadership Team of Layton Construction is to get involved
with employees and
partner with skilled subcon- tractors—let them all know that the company cares about their well-being. Many of the compa- ny’s over 850-member staff have been with them for decades. For
subcontractors, Layton’s
interest in their well-being is perhaps best represented in the company’s quarterly publication that regularly features the people behind
their subcontractors.
Aware of the cyclical and chal- lenging world of construction, the company also encourages indus- try and economic awareness and community involvement.
