Whirling and swirling, this crazy cloud formed above New Zealand. Scientists think it may be a new kind of cloud.

Mystery Clouds I learned of another mysterious cloud when someone sent me a photo of a cloud unlike any I’d seen before. It looked like the sea on a rough day. T e cloud swirled in crazy, wavy ways. Usually, I can identify a cloud just by looking at it. T is one stumped me. I was so puzzled, I wondered if it might be a new kind of cloud. Many cloud scientists think it’s a new cloud

and are studying how it forms. One theory is that it starts as bubble clouds. T en winds blowing at diff erent speeds rip through the clouds. T e winds stir up the bubbles, forming wild waves in the sky. Clouds like these are just one reason why I

keep my eyes on the sky. From fl uff y clouds to rolling and swirling clouds, I never know what I’ll see. I do know one thing. As land, water, and air interact, they create some of our world’s most amazing sights. For me, any cloudy day is a bright day.
