Velo Breaks Through, Iqbal Still Cruising D

Series I Championship in March, Velo vaulted to the top of the lead- erboard in the JTNC Boys’ Player of the Year standings. As of March 20, Velo had earned 908 points this season, 70 more than his near- est pursuer, George McNeely. Having already committed to

The race for Boys’ and Girls’


Player of the Year honors for the 2014-2015 season will culminate with the JTNC Tour Champi- onship, to be held July 27-28 at Poppy Hills.

She also nearly won the NCGA Junior Champion- ship that year finishing tied for third. “I have wonderful and spe- cial memories of playing on the Junior Tour of Northern Cali- fornia,” O’Sullivan said. “The tournaments were always very professionally run and gave me experience on how major tournaments are conducted.
