BOAT REPORT

The boat has no right to be as agile and engaging to drive as it is but Princess has never seen that as reason to dilute the dynamic

you’ll save £40,000. Also, there is something about the aerodynamics of the cockpit that seems to draw spray into the boat so that those sitting there when the boat is moving at speed will soon be coated in a fi ne mist. Then there’s the cost. The 55’s starting

price is almost exactly £100,000 more than the Sunseeker Manhattan 52 and around £300,000 more than the Prestige 520. Signifi cant amounts of cash in anyone’s book, the Princess undoubtedly has a healthy standard specifi cation and feels a class above in terms of fi nish and attention to detail – but six fi gures better?

THE HELM VIEW

Considering they are full touchscreens,

the displays are a bit of a stretch from the seats

This cubby is useful for loose objects

as the angled part of the dash above it is an ideal spot for a phone

VERDICT Money no object, the Princess is the new class leader in our opinion. It is supremely competent in every area and will cater comfortably for its full complement of six guests in that stylish and brilliantly proportioned interior while remaining a manageable size for a couple to run on their own. It may not be pushing the boundaries of technology or exterior style in the same way as the R35 but it is Princess at its very best. Contact See Princess website for dealers.
