CISPC 2020 – call for papers
Organisers of the CISPC 2020 event, to be held in central London in November, have issued a call for papers. Organised by Research Information magazine in partnership with Info International, the 2020 conference will build on the success of last year’s event by providing librarians and information professionals with deeper knowledge and understanding of communication strategies for open research. In an increasingly open world –
encompassing open research, open science and open data – the biggest challenges are around educating researchers about the changes they have to make to their working practices. CISPC 2020 will bring together
speakers from around the world that have developed effective scholarly communication strategies within their own institutions, and who will share their experiences and expertise with fellow scholarly communication professionals.

The event will once more be held at London Art House, in the Borough of Islington, just a short distance from the West End and City of London. Organisers of the event, on Monday 30
November, say they are also increasing the time available for table discussions, enabling delegates to share and learn from each other in an informal environment. The main conference themes are: the
effective communication of approaches to open research; streamlining the process of open submissions; best practice in submitting, storing and accessing open and FAIR data; and implementing software/ browser tools to aid open research processes.

Call for speakers We are currently accepting applications from the following: • Librarians/information professionals with a demonstrable record of success in communicating open research policies within their institution;
• Representatives from funding bodies fuelling the move to open research;
• Researchers/academics able to demonstrate changes in departmental/ faculty approaches that have raised the profile of open research; and
• Publishers/vendors that have developed tools aimed specifically at the open research/open data movement, and that can present a working case study with a librarian/information professional.
