Scotland Falkirk Gateway


Falkirk Council have a new partner to bring forward the development of Falkirk Gateway, Fintry Estates Ltd in a Joint Venture with Hargreaves Plc have been chosen as preferred developer for this 27 acre site which will form the eastern gateway to the town of Falkirk.


This strategically important site on the eastern outskirts of Falkirk lies adjacent to the Falkirk Stadium, home of Falkirk FC and the world famous Kelpies and Helix Park, which now attract in excess of 1.5 million visitors per year.


In conjunction with Hargreaves, Fintry will be developing a range of approximately 200,000 sqft of leisure and retail units together with social housing on the two sites making up the development opportunity.

Through retained agents Biggart & Co, discussions are ongoing with a number of national operators which will inform a planning application which will be submitted in late 2019.


Fintry Estates Limited was formed in 2014 by Duncan McEwan BSc, Dip LE, MRICS, who has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial development market throughout the United Kingdom. Prior to setting up FEL Duncan headed the highly successful Retail and Leisure Development arm of Terrace Hill, developing over 1,000,000 sq ft of retail and leisure property from as far afield as Helston, Cornwall to Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. Previous developments have included offices in Glasgow and Fife, residential developments in Edinburgh and Fife and industrial developments in North Lanarkshire. In 2017 Duncan was joined by Graham Wilson, formally of Vico Properties and Jomast Ltd.
