Vendors Wanted for the 16th Annual Central Florida Veg Fest

9/11 20th Anniversary Remembrance: Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem

n the first performance of its 87th season, the Bach Festival Society returns to the Dr.


Phillips Center’s Frontyard Festival™ to pay tribute to those lost in the September 11th terrorist attacks 20 years ago. On Saturday, Sept 11 at 11:00 am, the performance will include the much-loved Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. Those wishing to attend are


requested to fill out an interest form at the Dr. Phillips Center’s website, www.DrPhillipsCenter.org. Attendees will be seated in boxes on a first-come, first- served basis. Each box accommodates up to six seats. Concessionaires will have lunchtime options available for purchase. Artistic Director and Conductor John


Sinclair describes the program’s importance: “Te attacks on 9/11 changed so much in our lives, as has the pandemic. Trough the power of music, this program is designed to bring solace and remind us of our re- emerging musical community. Tere is a need to commemorate the resiliency of the human spirit.” Featured soloists for the program are Rollins College professors soprano Caitlin Mohr and baritone Stephen Mumbert. Te program will feature additional works, special guest speakers, and a color-guard presentation to complete the hour-long program.


Founded in 1935 in Winter Park, the Bach Festival Society is one of the longest continuously operating Bach Festivals in the country and is well ranked among America’s great oratorio societies. Central Florida Veg Fest is organized by Vegetarians of Central Florida, Inc., a nonprofit, volunteer-operated organization. VegCF also organizes Central Florida Earth Day at Lake Eola Park in April.
