“Sometimes disconnecting is the best way to stay connected…”

I

found the above quote recently, and I am reminded that summer is here— the perfect time to SLOW DOWN. Take deep breaths, limit electronic

device use and enjoy the therapy of nature, instrumental music, walking barefoot and JUST BEING. This will reconnect you to the values we, in our busy days, neglect to enjoy. I am grateful for my childhood years without digital

intervention. The cover art Sailing the Reach by Richard De Wolfe reminds me of wonderful family outings. Captained by my father Rod Jones, when we moved to Florida in 1970, we spent countless Saturdays day-sailing on Lake Dora (Mt Dora), Lake Monroe (Sanford) and the Intracoastal (Titusville). Give sailing a try! Right up there with school days ending and graduations,

June provides time to pay tribute to the men in our lives and their many roles. Their importance to family life has never been more critical—and the masculine quotient to our daily formula never more important than now. Being male in this fast-paced and demanding world brings many challenges, not only to fathers but to all men striving to be all they can be for the people in their lives. This June issue offers valuable tips to the on-going search for fulfi llment in all of life’s situations. Not just for men, an especially important article is on Cardiovascular Health. Is your doctor doing enough? Dr. Daniel Thomas shares advice on the need to improve your Circulation. (See page 15—a must-read!) And regarding Circulation, we are excited to announce that this Central Florida edition is getting a big boost in Circulation. Since year 2000 we have covered Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties. Now, we have expanded into Lake County! We welcome all the new readers. If your business, school, church and/or community center would like to receive each monthly issue, give us a call (407-628-0705), and we will add you to our route. Finally, take time to time to review, recharge and replenish…

We wish you a Happy June,

Margaret Jones Bertone, Publisher June 2017 9
