HIRE NEWS GAP continues to put trust in Kubota
GAP Hire Solutions, the UK’s leading independent equipment hire company, will continue to off er customers best- in-class construction machinery after announcing Kubota will be their sole supplier of mini and midi excavators for another year. Having already purchased almost 500 Kubota excavators, the Japanese manufacturer will provide GAP with all excavators in the 0.8t to 8.0t category. The Glasgow based hire company employs more than 1,800 people across 140 depots in the UK, with its latest purchase bolstering the company’s excavator fleet to almost 4,500. Ken Stewart, Head of Procurement said: “We have developed a strong successful working relationship with Kubota and the decision to continue to retain them as our sole supplier of compact excavators was an easy one. “The Kubota product is robust enough to withstand the rigours of the hire industry, which allows focus on the day-to-day business operations without the worry of the excavator down time or requiring maintenance.

David Hart, Kubota UK’s Managing Director, said: “The fact that GAP is our largest independent customer worldwide tells you everything you need to know about the strength of our relationship with them.” Traditionally known for plant & tool hire, GAP moved into hiring Non-Mechanical plant, such as fencing and barriers in 2009
and established their Lifting Hire & Sales division in 2011. In 2014, GAP launched their Welfare Services, Event Services, Survey & Safety Hire and Vehicle Hire divisions to off er their customers a complete hire solution under te one GAP umbrella.
2015 saw the establishment of a new London Tools & Access division, which was set up to deliver a bespoke service to customers within the M25 with fast collection and deliveries.
