LATEST, NEW & UPDATED STANDARDS IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING Written and compiled by Consultant David Richards Hon.FSEE, CEng, CEnv
There are various newly published standards and technical reports listed in this standards review which relate to the energy performance of buildings. These have been included as the SEE has a number of members who work in this sector. However, only the main standards and technical reports are
listed. Many havemultiple parts and numerous sub-parts, which are not individually listed. Themajority of these parts and sub-parts were published in June and July, but a few further sub-partsmay not yet be available as equivalent British Standards.
There are two new work items listed which have been given interimproject numbers IEC/TS 63141 damp heat,

steady state (unsaturated pressurised vapour with air) and IEC 63143 long time history replication.Whatmay not be obvious is that both of these are related to the environmental test standard BS EN 60068. The UK contributions to both these two projects is undertaken under the auspices of GEL/104 which is the UK shadow committee of IEC TC104 which is responsible for the standards 60068 and 60721. If anybody wants to participate in the work of either of these new projects please contact the GEL/104 BSI secretariat (

Evaluating energy efficiency and other factors of manufacturing systems that influence the environment. Environmental performance evaluation data.
This standard specifies the types of environmental performance evaluation (EPE) data, including their attributes, which can be used for evaluating the environmental performance ofmanufacturing systems based on the general principles described in ISO 20140-1. It also provides recommendations formapping the EPE data on to informationmodels specified by IEC 62264. This part of the standard applies to discrete, batch and continuous manufacturing. It is applicable to entiremanufacturing facilities and to parts of amanufacturing facility.
