Charities bag generous donation thanks to Lovell’s annual chari-tee golf day

Lovell’s South Wales and South West region recently held its 26th annual charity golf day at Radyr Golf Club in Cardiff, which raised nearly £6500 for charity. Tis year, 23 teams competed in the event. Golfers included Lovell employees as well as teams representing its subcontractors, partners and consultants. Lovell is based locally at the Greenmeadow Springs business park, Tongwynlais, north Cardiff. Over the past 25 years, the event has raised more than £175,000 for charity. Tis year’s chosen charities are Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice, which aims to ensure every life-limited child and young person in Wales lives a full family life. Lovell’s other chosen charity for this year is the Lighthouse Club who provide the confidential 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline, which is available to the industry’s workforce and their

families in the UK and Ireland. Te helpline provides the first point of contact for those who need to access a range of confidential support services including: emergency financial aid, advice on occupational health and mental wellbeing and support on legal, tax and debt management matters. Te event also included a generous auction and raffle donations from Lovell’s supply chain, clients and local sports clubs. Gemma Clissett, partnerships director at Lovell said: “I’d like to thank everyone involved in a thoroughly enjoyable event which has raised such a large sum to aid the valuable wok of our chosen and deserving charities.” Natalie Whyatt, corporate partnership manager at Tŷ Hafan said: “We’re incredibly grateful that Lovell has chosen to support Tŷ Hafan this year. Tis generous donation from the golf day will go towards providing vital lifeline services to

the children and families who need it most, and will provide them with new experiences and memories as they face the toughest challenge of their lives.” Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity said: “Tank you so much to the Lovell team who worked hard to make this day such a great event and to everyone that supported us on the day. “We receive no public funding and rely on support from within the industry to ensure that we can in turn provide our vital charitable giving services to our construction families in crisis. Te money raised will directly support our 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline, helpline app and Building Mental Health programme. “Without the support from companies such as Lovell, we would not be able to make such a huge difference.” To find out more about Lovell, visit www.lovell. co.uk/
