A Cardiff teen was left beaming with pride as her artwork was unveiled on the side of a National Express coach after she won a nationwide drawing competition. Fifteen-year-old Emma Walker was picked as the winner of National Express’s Colour the Coach competition in Wales after her poster encouraging people to come to Cardiff won an online poll, and her design can now be seen on the side of the coach carrying passengers to and from Wales. Colour the Coach is National Express’s annual nationwide art
competition which this year asked kids aged 5-15 to draw a poster to advertise their hometowns. Emma, who is from Cardiff , drew a very intricate and detailed drawing of Roath Park in one of the city’s suburbs which really impressed the judges. National Express Coach Managing Director Chris Hardy said: “Congratulations to Emma for creating such a great poster of Roath Park. We were really impressed by the detail on her design and her drawing looks fantastic on the side of our coach.
We are committed to helping the development of young people and showcasing youth talent so it’s great that Emma’s creativity will be on display for all to see.” Emma, who studies at Llanishen High School said: “I’m thrilled that I’ve won and loved seeing my artwork on the coach. I’m doing GCSE art and really love it. There’s so much to do in Cardiff as well as Roath Park, it’s such an amazing place!” To see this year’s winning designs visit:
