L&G staff also commit to raising £40K for the charity

Staff based at the Cardiff office of Legal & General, have joined forces with charity Royal Voluntary Service to do a trolley round every Friday afternoon at Velindre Cancer Centre. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, the Legal & General Retirement team have been supporting Royal Voluntary Service, one of Britain’s largest volunteering charities, since 2013.

This year,

staff from the company have committed to six hours of voluntary service every week for a year. After completing their training and induction, two members of the Retirement team will visit the Royal Voluntary Service coffee shop at 1pm every Friday, where their first task will be to stock the trolley.

Magazines, chilled drinks, and healthy snacks are just some of the treats on offer. The volunteers will then take the trolley to each ward in Velindre Cancer Centre, chatting to patients and staff along the way. Nia Wales, Head of Business Excellence at Legal and General said: “We feel it’s important for our employees to take part in this activity, to talk with patients and understand the value this service brings. Our vulnerable customer programme highlights our need to reach our customers and understand their needs. We are really looking forward to starting our volunteering effort and making a positive contribution to the local community.” Nathan Evans Retail Area Manager at Royal

Voluntary Service said: “It’s great that Legal & General has committed to taking the trolley out every Friday. Their additional support will enable us to provide this valuable service on a more regular basis.” As well as volunteering their time, the Retirement team across all 4 regional offices in Cardiff, Hove, London and Solihull have committed to raising £40,000 for Royal Voluntary Service. Dress down days, raffles and sports challenges are just some of the activities that have been planned. This money will help Royal Voluntary Service support more people across the country; in hospital, at home and in the community. Royal Voluntary Service is one of Britain’s largest volunteering charities with over 25,000

interactive show for all the family (ages 3+). Offering great days out for the kids this summer, DINOSAUR WORLD LIVE roars into The Bristol Hippodrome from 28th June (4 performances only), as part of a major UK Tour. DINOSAUR WORLD LIVE introduces audiences to the lost island of Mundo De Los Lagartos Terribles off the east coast of South America, a land of giant lizards, rumoured to be inhabited by dinosaurs who’d

escaped mass extinction at the end of the cretaceous period. Using stunning puppetry to bring a range of remarkably life- like dinosaurs to the stage, the show reveals a host of impressive creatures including every child’s favourite flesh-eating giant, the Tyrannosaurus Rex, along with a Giraffatitan, Segnosaurus and baby

Triceratops, to name a

few! The live show is followed by a post-show ‘meat and greet’ where audience members have the opportunity to meet the dinosaurs in person. For more information please visit www.atgtickets.com/bristol
