EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW INNOVATION TRAIL continued

The Storm 850C dehumidifier from Alorair.

demand finishes. The company states that, in a recent four-day test, the machine ran for just 5.59 hours, equating to a CO2 reduction of 52.1kg. The set was used in silent ‘eco’ mode for 14.05 hours and the operator saved £20 in fuel over the trial period, with no reported disruption in power.

Another eco-friendly launch is the AS30E WeedHex battery brush from PSD Groundscare (Stand F10). It is designed to remove weeds on uneven surfaces such

as cobblestones, along walls and kerb stones, and its quiet operation means it can be used in locations such as residential areas and hospitals. The 82V 5.0Ah lithium-ion battery is claimed to give 30 to 45 minutes of operation depending on brush type and application.

Also offering the advantages of cordless operation, the RMA 765 V from Stihl (Stand F22) is a lawnmower using higher-capacity backpack batteries, namely the AR 2000 L or AR 3000 L, to deliver longer running times. It offers five speeds and a battery power level indicator is incorporated. The 63cm cutting deck utilises synchronised multi-blades that are designed to lift the grass, cut it efficiently and blow the cuttings into the grass catcher bag efficiently.

Also being presented in Innovation Trail - Live will be the Elite Moulded Extension Lead from The Hire Supply Co (Stand E42). The company states that the task of electrically checking extension leads can be a time-consuming and costly procedure for workshop technicians.

This fully moulded 110V extension lead is claimed to reduce the time required by more than 60%. In trials, a standard 16A 110V extension lead took 3 minutes and 29 seconds to fully test, whereas the moulded equivalent required only 1 minute and 9 seconds.

Completing the line-up of ten Innovation Trail - Live products will be the cordless MX Fuel system from TTI UK (Milwaukee) (Stand I10), a source of battery power designed to drive equipment that would normally require a generator. One product in the line-up is the Rocket lighting

42

tower which has four adjustable light heads to provide up to 27,000 lumens. The lamp heads have a high-impact polycarbonate lens, and the product has a low centre of gravity for stability on uneven surfaces.

Six other products await your inspection on the Innovation Trail. These include the Storm 850C dehumidifier from Alorair (Stand A56), which has wi-fi capability, allowing users to check on the unit remotely. The Mix 80 mortar mixer with an I-Dust guard, from CLM Construction Supplies (Stand

I16), has a connection for a vacuum cleaner to reduce the risk of harm to the operator. The BlueBox from FuelBox (Stand A24) is similar to the bag-in-a- box fuelling system developed by the company, but containing 10 litres of AdBlue for ease of use and handy storage.

The Eliet Prof 6 shredder, another product from PSD Groundscare (Stand F10), is a significantly redesigned model developed to process any type of green waste up to 10cm in diameter. It is self-propelled to facilitate loading and unloading and to give manoeuvrability. The discharge chute rotates through 280° and wheeled, tracked and road-tow versions will be available.

Also selected for the Innovation Trail is the Generator Smart Care system from Kohler-SDMO (Stand G22), designed to enable operators of generators in the company’s 2-20kW Portable Power Range to monitor them remotely via Bluetooth

technology and a dedicated app on an Android or iOS Smartphone. It provides details of maintenance and service operations that may be required. Finally, Multiquip UK (Stand I34) will promote its new range of dry-cut dustless tile saws, with demonstrations of the IQTS244 model. The machines have a special blade that is designed to keep cool during operation thanks to an inbuilt vacuum. The company says that the products can save time and money, and improve health and safety.
