Offered for sale “CICLON”
52ft Sparkman & Stephens Sloop 1944
Designed by K Aage Nielsen while at S&S in New York. Olin Stephens considered Nielsen the best designer they ever had – moreover stating that if he was ever going to have a yacht built for himself, he would most surely have wanted an Aage Nielsen design. Nielsen’s manic attention to detail extended to his demanding the best from his builders and CICLON was no exception - launched in Cuba in 1944 she was rarely off the podium. She beat such legends as STORMY WEATHER and TICONDEROGA. Is it time now to reintroduce her to her sisters?
Lying Cyprus | £195,000
Offered for sale “CLARION OF WIGHT” 43ft Sparkman & Stephens Sloop 1963
CLARION OF WIGHT was launched by Lallows, Cowes, to a S&S design for a state of the art offshore racer when beautiful boats were still a by-product of the designer’s quest for speed and interiors were still friendly. Thought to be very light, of the original 10 tonnes displacement, 4 ½ was in the lead keel. Selected for the 1963 British Admirals Cup Team, she won the Fastnet in an overall British team win, proving herself a magnificent all-rounder! CLARION remains much loved and is certainly fast enough to hold her own in modern or classic fleets. For many her name and pedigree will speak for themselves.
Lying France | €150,000
