Bandai continues Embed roll-out B
andai Namco continues to roll out Embed’s cashless
installation technology, completing a second full cashless installation using Smart Touch Readers, which are RFID so customers can tap and play whilst collecting the winnings in tickets back onto the card. The system was fitted to a mix of redemption, video, air hockey and crane machines at the newly opened state-of- the art 18-lane bowling centre in the Derby Intu shopping Centre. “With contactless payments now increasing day by day, the Embed system with smart touch readers offer a payment method that players are used to and are clearly comfortable with,” said Steve Short, general manager of Bandai Namco Management Solutions. “This second installation went as smoothly as the first and coped beautifully with the particularly busy Easter holidays. In fact, customer waiting times were kept to an absolute minimum thanks to the Embed system.”
Short added: “We have installed two
self-service kiosks to compliment the reception POS terminal which have taken the pressure off the Centre Team at peak times. Customers have found using them and the system very easy and with 68% of sales going through the kiosk it allows the team to keep the flow of visitors through the doors as simple as possible.” “The unparalleled back-up support from BNAE and Embed is what motivated us to explore cashless as a concept in our bowls and with the problems and costs associated with the current changeover to the new pound coin, we believe it was a wise decision to invest in going cashless rather than have to spend time & money changing over coin mechs,” said Will Etherington of Hollywood Bowl. “The system has proved itself to be extremely reliable during peak times and has allowed us to give our centres a brighter, cleaner look, without the need for the added security that comes with handling cash.”
