making it appealing to a broad range of guests. The project also reflects the strength of our
partnership with Parques Reunidos. Together, we’ve focused on creating an attraction that pushes ride innovation forward and provides authentic memorable experiences and happiness to guests across generations. For us, Aquopolis is an excellent example of
where the industry is heading: attractions that successfully combine technical innovation with strong guest engagement and highly repeatable experiences.
What is the next big project for ProSlide? We have several exciting projects underway globally, and while we can’t share details on all of them yet, there is a great deal to look forward to. What’s particularly exciting is the variety
of projects we’re seeing – from large-scale destination water parks to integrated resort developments and expansion projects for established operators. At the same time, indoor water parks continue to be a major area of growth. This is a segment where ProSlide has deep roots, with a long history of delivering innovative, all- season attractions that drive year-round guest engagement.
Do you have any thoughts/predictions on what’s next for the industry? We see several major trends shaping the future of the industry. First, operators are increasingly focused on
differentiation. Guests have more entertainment options than ever, so parks need attractions that are truly memorable and difficult to replicate. Second, family and group-based experiences
are becoming even more important. Shared thrill continues to be a major driver of guest satisfaction, which is why attractions designed around social
riding experiences are performing so well. Third, we expect continued growth in resort-
integrated water attractions, especially in regions such as the Middle East and Asia, where operators are increasingly blending hospitality and entertainment into a single destination experience.
Sustainability is a huge focus for many industries right now; how challenging is it to bear that in mind with your projects? At ProSlide, sustainability is not viewed as separate from innovation – it’s part of the design conversation from the beginning. That includes looking at water efficiency, energy use, operational optimization, and long-term durability.
What else can you share about future plans from ProSlide? We’re continuing to invest heavily in innovation, product development, and strengthening partnerships with operators around the world. Our future plans remain centered on advancing
water ride technology. We believe there is still enormous opportunity ahead for the industry, and ProSlide is excited to continue leading that evolution.
Final thoughts? One thing worth highlighting is that the water park industry continues to show remarkable resilience and momentum. Across regions, we’re seeing strong optimism
from operators and growing investment in projects designed to create meaningful guest experiences. That’s encouraging because it reinforces
something we’ve believed for a long time: great attractions create lasting memories, emotional connection, and reasons for guests to return again and again. And ultimately, that’s what drives everything we do at ProSlide.
Kilauea: a One-of-a-Kind ProSlide RocketBLAST Water Coaster
"We are extremely proud of our continued collaboration with Parques Reunidos," said Aaron Wilson, Senior Vice President – Business Development – EMEA & LATAM at ProSlide. "We worked very closely with both the Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada team and Parques Reunidos headquarters to develop an iconic attraction that would be a first for the region, and we're incredibly excited about the result." Stretching nearly 180 metres and reaching
speeds of up to 35 km/h, Kilauea delivers a thrilling journey powered by RocketBLAST water propulsion technology. The ride launches four-person in-line vehicles through a series of exhilarating climbs, drops, high-speed uphill launches, and moments of weightlessness. "Kilauea is a super dynamic ride," Wilson
added. "The combination of steep drops, powerful uphill launches, and high-G turns delivers a unique mix of sensations that keeps riders engaged from start to finish." Guests encounter five RocketBLAST propulsion
sections and three FlyingSAUCER features throughout the experience, carefully integrated to create a varied and continuously evolving ride path. One of Kilauea's most distinctive features
is its low-to-grade FlatBLAST launch section. Positioned at ground level and featuring viewing windows along the launch path, the section gives spectators a front-row seat as friends and family blast past them, accelerating into the adventure. "The ride begins with a FlatBLAST launch that
thrusts guests in a straight line immediately off the tower, taking them from 0 to more than 30 km/h in just a few seconds," said Wilson. "It's an incredible visual moment for both riders and spectators, creating excitement from the very first seconds of the ride."
