he Outdoor Learning Cards are a nationally recognised resource that introduce a range of exciting outdoor learning activities designed for
use with children and young people. The cards promote high-quality outdoor learning and contribute directly to a wide range of educational and development aims for young people. By using these cards, leaders can support learning across the
curriculum and promote a physically active and healthy lifestyle, which will develop in young people positive attitudes towards self, others and their environment. Following on from the success of the Outdoor Learning Cards, the
Environmental Learning Cards introduce young people to experiencing, understanding, enjoying and sustaining the outdoor environment. These cards offer a range of activities that are of great value in
themselves, but also provide the opportunity to support and add value to on-going programmes of learning. Ideal for use in schools, outdoor centres and with groups of all kinds whenever there is interaction with
the environment in an outdoor learning context. Each of these valuable resources take young people beyond the
classroom and the experiences they gain outdoors help them to make sense of the world around them. The Outdoor Learning Cards and Environmental Learning Cards are
developed by the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel (OEAP) in partnership with HARVEY Maps to provide ideas for teachers and instructors wishing to use the outdoors as a medium for learning. Full sets of Outdoor Learning Cards and Environmental Learning
Cards, as well as six FREE sample Learning Cards available to download and print, are available from HARVEY Maps.

Rubbermaid Commercial Products launches campaign to promote hand hygiene in schools

Designed as a computer game style mission, the campaign will call on children in classrooms across the UK to create an informative poster which outlines why hand hygiene is so crucial. With a challenge to ‘spread the word, not the germs’, children are empowered to raise awareness of the importance of good hand hygiene among their peers.
