CONTENTS Dear Reader,

Welcome to the latest issue of Education Today. Our Feature Focus this month is a timely one looking at exams. In our first feature on the topic,

we’re delighted to hear from Paul Flint, Science teacher and Author of “The Exam Slayer”, who has some great advice for your students going into exams this year, while in our second Jennifer Montague, Middle Years Programme Coordinator at ACS International School Egham, explores the relevance of our national exams system for the modern world, and shows how an alternative assessment programme can bring great dividends. Finally, now that the weather is (hopefully!) improving, we round out our features this month with a look at outdoor learning in the company of Zana Wood, Creative Director & Outdoor Practitioner at Grow to School, who outlines some of the many benefits of getting children out of the classroom. Elsewhere in the magazine we have all our usual contributors offering insight and opinion, including a great piece on sustainability from Nigel Aylwin-Foster of ReEnergise Projects Ltd, while in our regular View from the classroom piece this month we hear from Gavin Hamilton, Headteacher at Shipley CE Primary School, who explains how his school went from Inadequate to Good in three years. Remember, we love to hear from you, you can get in touch with us via Twitter @EdTodayMag, as well as by phone or email.
