This demand has highlighted the need for more devices particularly for those from disadvantaged families unable to afford laptops or even broadband connections.

What makes LapSafe® unique in the market? Without doubt, it would be our power management system. We prioritise user safety, our patented SmartLine™ with PowaSave™ features ultra-safe low voltage built-in charging cables specific to the make and model of laptop / Chromebook, eliminating the need for AC adaptors. The power management offers three key areas of protection; soft-start, surge and residual voltage protection to protect both the user and the equipment.
All devices are charged simultaneously in the fastest possible time and we always issue best-charged device. The highly intelligent SmartLine™ system incorporates PowaSave™ as standard. When devices are fully charged, PowaSave™ automatically turns off its internal power supplies rather than dissipating wasted electricity as heat. Charging is automatically reinstated when required by the devices. Whilst some companies claim to use smart charging, the reality may not be as smart as they say.

Managing large pools of assets, such as laptops and tablets can bring many challenges; keeping software up-to-date; keeping them fully charged; loaning devices and keeping track of the asset. Having a pool of devices to loan to students can help to bridge the gap ensuring all students have access to a device. However, this can be a headache and difficult to manage. Manually loaning devices is time consuming, requiring staff to ‘check-out and check-in’ devices. Devices may not be available out of normal study periods leaving students with no access to a device when they need it.
Automating the manual loan service can dramatically improve the user experience as well as save staff time managing the devices. LapSafe® has a wide range of products that can help automate the loaning of devices to students as well as a range of mobile trolleys and cabinets.
How is LapSafe® the sustainable option? Firstly, LapSafe® has designed its products from the ground up to be durable and long lasting. There is always an upgrade path so that schools are not buying something that they later have to discard and buy again. We still upgrade mobile trolleys that we sold twenty years ago making them probably the most sustainable storage and charging trolley in the market.
Secondly, our SmartLine™ with PowaSave, mentioned earlier is extremely energy efficient. Shutting down the charging of devices and not leaving them on standby when not in use saves energy costs which can really build up when you are talking about a class set of devices or more!
What’s next for LapSafe®? LapSafe® continues to grow from strength to strength. We listen to our customers to ensure that our products stay abreast with their needs and technology as it changes.
This year at the BETT Show 2023, LapSafe® will be launching a new range of Smart Lockers.
