Promethean celebrates fifth year as global IFPD leader at Bett G

lobal education technology company, Promethean celebrated its fifth year as the global leader in interactive flat panel displays (IFPDs) for education* by unveiling its all- new ActivPanel 9 with ActivSync at Bett last month.

In 2018, Futuresource Consulting named Promethean No. 1 by volume in the global K-12 education sector (excluding China). Its latest report

(Quarter 4 2022) puts the UK and Ireland market share at 24.9%. Promethean continues to lead the

IFPD market by evolving to meet educators’ shifting needs, which is evidenced by the launch of ActivPanel 9, the company’s most robust, seamless, and secure user experience yet.

Bett visitors were able to see how the new ActivPanel meets the needs of teachers and IT managers with intuitive, cutting-edge technology that enables a seamless classroom experience. Guest teachers also shared best practices and their personal experiences

using the panel to transform learning and collaboration. “Bett has been the

flagship event in our calendar for more than two decades,” said Jennifer Foreman, chief marketing officer at

Promethean. “This year, we celebrated five years as the market leader, launched the ActivPanel 9, and hosted one of our most exciting stand programmes to date. It was a busy show!” Promethean also continued its collaboration with parental engagement charity Learning with Parents at Bett. In addition to welcoming the charity on its stand for the duration of the show, Promethean supported Learning with Parents to launch a new digital reading log that aims to further tackle inequality in UK education.

Learning with Parents launches digital reading log at Bett Charity expands schools programme to include Reading alongside English and Maths

L

earning with Parents has developed a new digital reading log that aims to give primary schools a solid foundation for parental engagement, enhance parent-child interactions when reading at home, and improve communication between home and school.

Using insights on existing platform usage with its Maths and English activities, Learning with Parents identified that forgotten passwords are a common reason for parents not completing homework activities. Addressing this during the development of the digital reading log, Learning with Parents has introduced password-less access that enables parents to upload reading records – without logging in.

Schools simply send parents a ‘magic’ link, that they click on to complete the reading record for that day. Parents can record their child reading and send an audio clip, write text observations, or take a photo. The data is securely uploaded and attached to the child’s record, giving the school rich insights into reading progress. When parents want to look back on previous reading logs, they simply sign in to their Learning with Parents account.

Data is securely tracked through the Learning with Parents platform, with advanced reporting on reading progress according to Free-School Meal (FSM) eligible families and non-FSM families. Integrating with school management systems, analysis can be conducted at a class, year group, school, or trust-wide level.
