New Anxiety in Adolescence Training for Schools Launching September 2017 Y

outhscape and SelfharmUK are delighted to be launching a brand new course for UK secondary schools this September, focused on recognising and responding to anxiety in young people.

As teaching and youth work professionals, we are seeing a significant rise in the number of disclosures around adolescent mental health. 20%* of young people will be affected by a mental health issue in any given year and 10-13%* of all young people in the UK self-harm. As a school are you equipped and confident to offer support?

is a National charity based in Luton, Bedfordshire. Since its beginnings in 1993, the charity has developed a strong and professional reputation for delivering caring, child-centred UK-wide work which focuses on the emotional and social needs of all young people. We have a number of services ranging from our much endorsed bespoke SelfharmUK training sessions for professionals, through to a selection of accessible user-friendly resources that can be used to support young people around their mental health.

Anxiety in Adolescence. 3-hour Training Course for Schools (LAUNCHES SEPT 2017)

In a culture with higher pressures to succeed, 24/7 online presence, global instability and a constant bad news cycle, young people are increasingly struggling to know how to cope.

Anxiety in Adolescence is a 3-hour course that not only highlights the pressures that young people are facing today, but also key methods of support, including school-wide and individual approaches, free downloadable resources and the skills to identify the signs of anxiety disorders. The course also covers the area of exam related anxiety and gives practical advice and measures schools can put in place to manage this time of year and better support students.

Anxiety in Adolescence will be available UK-wide and can be delivered at a time and location to suit your school. Our courses are designed for groups up to 25 although we are very happy to deliver sessions to over and under this number if required.

Self-harm 3-hour Equipping course and 6-hour In-depth workshop SelfharmUK as part of the wider charity Youthscape, are an organisation that not only supports young people impacted by self-harm but also offers professional UK-wide training to schools around responding to self-harm disclosure and supporting students.

3-hour Essential Knowledge course

This course is ideal for those looking to gain a better understanding of the issue to support their work with young people.

The 6-hour In-depth workshop
