OLDHAM SIXTH FORM COLLEGE arrayed with new carpet
S
tudents and staff at Oldham Sixth Form College will reap the benefits of Array carpet tiles from
Heckmondwike’s Creative Range in its Student Support Hub. 750m2
of Array
carpet tiles in black were chosen, due to their aesthetics and durability.
Jeremy Broadhead, Commercial Manager at Heckmondwike, explains: “Array was a great choice by Oldham Sixth Form College. It’s a really hardwearing carpet that is suitable for heavy traffic areas and will retain its attractive appearance for many years to come.”
David Crossland, Facilities Manager at Oldham College said: “We were looking for an affordable tile with a ‘designer feel’ that had good aesthetics but would also be very hardwearing. We chose black as a robust, neutral colour and are really pleased with the result!”
Heckmondwike’s Array carpet tile range features a mid-width rib design and a charcoal background enhanced with a subtle linear pattern. The Array range can be used in conjunction with Heckmondwike’s popular Broadrib range to provide borders or other stunning effects, allowing endless design possibilities.
Heckmondwike carpet tiles are British-made and provide outstanding performance, as well as being backed by a 10 year limited wear warranty, which means they can be specified in complete confidence.
Sample cards for Array are available on request by calling +44 [0] 1924 406161 or visiting the website

nder the banner of ‘Protecting all air movement equipment’ and with a newly developed logostyle, RABScreen has just launched a brand new
websitewww.RABScreen.com
The new website is very user friendly, illustrating how companies can save energy, time and money through the simple installation of RABScreen external filter screens to all air movement equipment. There are dedicated sections on chillers, air handling units and cooling towers which allow users to see which RABScreen versions to use and the mounting options available for each of these applications. The benefits are enormous as a 1mm layer of dirt insulating coil fins can reduce efficiency by 21% and increase energy use by as much as 30%.
There are several sections on the new website providing useful resources to users and specifiers, allowing users to access frequently asked questions within which are some excellent technical data about not only the benefits of RABScreen external filters but also the effect on airflow.

ALTRO ideal for £25 million Welsh ‘super school’
In addition to Altro XpressLay, Altro WhiterockTM White walling and Altro Stronghold™ 30 safety flooring were installed in the school kitchen. These products are often specified together as they deliver a proven combination of safety and hygiene in hard working environments. Altro Whiterock White is the hygienic alternative to tiles that’s impact resistant, grout-free and easy to clean. Its smooth white surface and classic purity make it a timeless choice for any interior.
Altro Stronghold 30 achieves Altro’s highest rating for slip resistance and is designed to minimise risk in wet and greasy conditions for the lifetime of the flooring. As well as helping to keep staff safe from slips, it also helps reduce their fatigue, thanks to its 3mm thickness which provides noise reduction and comfort underfoot.
Linney Cooper installed the Altro Stronghold 30, while MI Contracts fitted the Altro Whiterock White.

ward-winning Altro XpressLay™ safety flooring has been used throughout a £25 million secondary ‘super school’ in North Wales. At 4,500m2, it is the biggest ever Altro XpressLay installation in the North West.
The new Rhyl High School has been funded by Denbighshire Council and the Welsh Government, and built by Willmott Dixon. It accommodates 1,200 students, and also provides a base for 45 students from a nearby community special school. The whole building was constructed to achieve a rating of “excellent” on the BREEAM scale. As with most new-build school projects, cost and time were major factors in the construction of Rhyl High. Flooring company Linney Cooper — who were appointed by Willmott Dixon to install the flooring throughout the new school — were well aware of this. But even though Altro flooring had not originally been specified, Linney Cooper recommended switching to Altro XpressLay.
