Editor’s comment

I think I speak for much of the planet when I say 2020 can go and fuck itself. I have never known such a never- ending stream of sewage rolling over the planet’s population: weather systems have gone completely insane, with huge swathes of fl ooding in Asia; COVID is keeping entire countries in its thrall and appears to have more than one sting in its tail; entire economies are precarious, and everywhere people are confusing the stock market (which often loves a crisis, as long as it’s not caused by its own idiocy a la 2008) with the economy. A healthy stock market is most certainly not the same thing as a healthy economy… Many people are hoping that the COVID crisis will introduce sweeping change to the world, with the opportunity to remove poor leaders, to instigate environmental protections, to try and save the actual planet. I hope they’re right, and that the opportunities that usually follow a crisis are grasped by the people, rather than the businesses. It’s never too late to change for the better, to fi nd a new way of living that is positive and inclusive. But when you involve people in any equation… Well, who the hell knows. Anything could – and probably will – happen. Enjoy the issue,
