Classroom block for Dinas Powys School
Following a comprehensive evaluation of Dinas Powys Primary School’s facilities, it was determined that a new classroom block was essential to replace the existing outdated
classrooms. Wernick was entrusted with the project by the Vale of Glamorgan Council, encompassing the demolition and removal of the old structure, as well as the design, supply, and installation of a modern three-classroom block. This new facility includes an office, kitchen, and appropriately designed toilets.
Wernick Buildings commenced the project with the demolition and removal of the old building, executed in partnership with an approved Welsh SME groundworks contractor. Meanwhile, at the manufacturing facility, Wernick fabricated the modules for the new block, meticulously tailored to the school’s specifications to ensure exceptional precision and quality.
The new structure was erected in strict adherence to all pertinent building regulations. In addition, Wernick equipped the roof with a 4 kWp photovoltaic (PV) system, contributing to a reduction in the school’s carbon footprint by harnessing renewable energy.
To enrich the outdoor experience, Wernick installed a free-standing mono-pitch canopy. This feature offers shelter for students during adverse weather conditions, providing a protected space for gathering. The project
