EFI and Agfa’s DPS business to combine and form industrial inkjet company
EFI and Agfa have announced a definitive agreement to combine Agfa’s Digital Printing Solutions business with EFI. An affiliate of private equity firm Siris will hold a 60% interest, and Agfa will hold a 40% interest in the jointly held company, which will bring together the operating capabilities of EFI and Agfa DPS under a governance structure whereby Siris and Agfa will act as equal partners. The agreement follows the global
partnership EFI and Agfa established in 2024, and the combination brings together specialised technology and applications to create a scaled industrial inkjet business. Frank Baker, co-founder and managing
partner, and David Calamai, MD at Siris, both said: “We look forward to partnering
with Agfa to accelerate innovation and expansion for customers worldwide.” Vincent Wille, president of Agfa DPS, said: “By combining technology leadership, global reach and deep application expertise, we can help our customers achieve new levels of productivity, agility and sustainable growth.” Frank Pennisi, CEO of EFI, said: “This combination is a natural next step that allows us to build on that momentum with a broader platform, accelerating innovation and expanding the solutions we can deliver to customers across industrial inkjet.” The proposed transaction is expected to
close by the end of 2026 and is subject to customary employee information and consultation processes, regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

CDM Plastics brings print in-house with Dlican and Kartech
CDM Plastics has installed a Dlican DLI-2513 UV flatbed printer and a Kartech KT1625 digital cutting table from China Print Supplies (CPS).
The Redditch-based acrylic fabricator produces displays, signage and graphics for major UK retail brands, and until this year outsourced most of its printing work to subcontractors.
Running both processes in-house gives the business control of its deadlines and keeps the print margin inside the company. Carl Way, production director at CDM Plastics, said: “We had a smaller printer which we used for roll work and prototyping, and then we subcontracted everything else. “Thanks to the new machines from CPS,
Signs Display has strengthened its wide-format production capability with the installation of an Agfa Jeti Tauro H2500. The new hybrid system has been added alongside the company’s two existing Titan printers from Agfa and has opened new opportunities in roll media, white ink, and specialist applications. Shaun Hitchman, operations manager at Signs Display, said: “We had looked at the
Tauro years ago and when we came back to market, it was still the machine we favoured despite several more options being open to us. “We felt the speed and versatility the machine provided would meet our needs and help the business to grow, opening up new opportunities for us whilst maintaining and protecting the needs of existing contracts.” Rather than replacing existing equipment, Signs Display installed the H2500 as an additional production system. It meant the company could retain its Titans while using the new machine’s industrial speed of up to 390m sq/hr and its hybrid capabilities to take more work on within the same day. The Tauro H2500 gives the company the ability to handle both rigid and roll media and, coupled with Agfa’s Asanti workflow software, it enables more intelligent work routing across its production floor.
New wide-format technical service launched by Spectra
Spectra Service Solutions has launched a specialist technical and applications support business designed to extend engineering capability for wide-format print companies, OEMs, distributors and resellers across the UK and further afield. Founded by Marc Beresford and Adam
Moore, Spectra brings together more than 40 years of wide-format industry experience, and provides engineering and applications support across a range of wide-format platforms, including Fujifilm Acuity Ultra and Acuity Prime systems, JHF and RTZ equipment, and Inca Onset hardware. Services include breakdown support, preventative maintenance, installation and

commissioning, machine moves, operator training, colour management, applications development and spare parts supply. A key differentiator is Spectra’s dedicated technical facility, which houses both an Acuity
Ultra and Acuity Prime printer, which allows its engineers to reproduce faults, test media and applications. Marc Beresford, co-founder and director of Spectra, said: “The printers themselves haven’t suddenly changed. The manufacturers are still there, the parts and ink remain available, and the technical knowledge exists to keep the equipment productive. “Our role is to make that knowledge and engineering resource available to customers, distributors and manufacturers who need it.” Customers can access the service through one-off appointments or as part of a longer-term support arrangement.
we have taken control of the process, as well as benefiting from additional margin.” The Dlican prints on rigid sheet up to 2.5×1.3m and was specified with additional print heads, which lifts output speeds on longer runs, which was exactly what the company was looking for. Mr Way added: “We looked at cutting machines from a few other manufacturers, but the combination of the price and quality of the Kartech was really hard to beat.”
