Control for heating and hot water without central management
Part of its K-con bespoke solutions range, KOOLTECH has introduced the KS1- BR41N, also referred to as K-BRAIN. It is a self- contained control panel designed to operate with the Mitsubishi Electric CAHV-R air source heat pump, managing space heating and domestic hot water from a single interface. The KS1-BR41N allows
users to set both domestic hot water temperature and heating flow temperature. It controls a motorised three-port valve to manage system changeover and defrost operation, returning flow to
the heating buffer during defrost even if there is a hot water demand. Once defrost is complete, the system resumes operation to the required set point. Managing the changeover between space heating and DHW production usually requires an expensive BMS solution, which results in higher costs, prolonged programming times, and complex commissioning. The KS1-BR41N overcomes these challenges by providing a dedicated, maintenance-
free interface for the CAHV-R. The KS1-BR41N unit
minimises on-site complexity and installation time. Its dedicated functionality makes the CAHV-R heat pump system suitable for a wider range of budget-conscious projects. It is a suitable control for smaller commercial applications such as care homes, schools, and small hotels, where a full BMS is costly and unnecessary.▄

Ready for industrial decarbonisation
Targeting industrial and large-scale heating applications, TRANE has launched the XStream platform-based RTWF HT, a high temperature water-to- water heat pump. It is capable of delivering hot water temperatures of up to 105°C, with heating capacities reaching 1.5 MW, and builds on the company’s earlier City RTSF HT unit. The product is aimed at medium- and high-temperature industrial processes, as well as large building and district heating schemes, and is designed to provide both heating and cooling, including the recovery of waste heat from industrial and commercial systems. The heat pump uses the refrigerant
R1233zd(E), which has a low global warming potential, and incorporates a Trane screw compressor and the Symbio 800 control system. Six standard unit sizes are available to cover a range of output requirements. The RTWF HT is intended for
applications such as industrial process heating, heat recovery and booster duties within cascade systems. The system can achieve a coefficient of performance of up to 5.0, positioning it as an alternative to traditional boiler- based plant in sectors including food processing, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. ▄

Intelligent gas water heaters for commercial use
Balancing performance and efficiency
A new 65kW model has joined HAMWORTHY HEATING’s Tyneham 290HT commercial heat pump range. This new model increases the range’s heating capacity to meet the growing demand for higher output systems while maintaining its commitment to energy efficiency. Now available in six outputs from 15 to
65kW, the Tyneham 290HT range is designed to provide reliable and efficient heating across a variety of commercial settings, including schools, offices and leisure facilities. Using natural refrigerant, the Tyneham
290HT can achieve higher flow temperatures, while benefiting from a low global warming potential (GWP) of just 3. Highly efficient with a coefficient of performance (COP) rating of up to 4.94, the range also features an inverter- controlled compressor, which adjusts the building temperature according to

specific requirements, further enhancing its performance and efficiency. Offering a flexible solution, units can be
cascaded to achieve higher outputs, catering to larger buildings or facilities. Furthermore, the Tyneham 290 can be integrated with other Hamworthy Heating products to create a hybrid heating system, offering even greater energy efficiency and supporting efforts to lower carbon footprints. Quiet in operation, with noise levels as low as 64db(A), the Tyneham 290 range is also an excellent choice for commercial buildings where noise control is a consideration. Jason Allen, commercial product manager, comments: “As the industry shifts toward more sustainable energy solutions, this new model strikes the perfect balance of performance and efficiency for larger heating needs.”▄

The Astute range of intelligent commercial gas water heaters from ADVECO has been developed exclusively for the UK market. Astute features five water connections on the top, back, and front of the units, along with versatile fluing for ease of installation, making retrofitting older systems straightforward, even if converting to high- efficiency gas. The product is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of commercial properties. It launches with 14 variants offering heating output capacities from 22 to 111kW and storage volumes ranging from 190 to 380 litres. All provide up to 98% thermal efficiency. Patented triple-pass heat
exchanger design constructed of high-quality steel and advanced power anodes minimises wear to extend the unit’s life, even in aggressive soft water areas where more expensive stainless steel appliances would traditionally be required. Developed with smaller buildings in mind, the 190 and 284-litre, 22 to 28kW models provide a smart,
robust water heater for sites such as cafés, retailers and primary schools. The 300 and 380-litre variants, available from 37 up to 111kW, provide additional capacity for businesses with greater hot water demands, including restaurants, schools and colleges, hotels, and residential care homes. ▄
