Phoenix Contact has introduced a LoRaWAN luminaire control unit for street lighting which makes it possible to lower energy consumption, extend the service life of luminaires, and reduce the amount of maintenance they require. The product portfolio now includes the Zhaga-compatible control device with Dali D4i interface for street lighting. Connection to the higher-level system is via LoRaWAN. The control device contributes to the intelligent management of individual luminaires within the lighting infrastructure of thoroughfares or public-space lighting.

SSE Energy Solutions has signed an agreement with CCR Energy to explore energy solutions for the Aberthaw coal powered plant. CCR City Deal purchased the plant


in 2022 and created CCR Energy to remediate the site in readiness for redevelopment into an exemplar for secure green energy production in the region. Wilson Energy has helped to reduce fuel costs for tenants and boost sustainability by doubling the size of a district heating system in a Scottish town. The Wick District Heating Scheme in Caithness uses woodchip to generate heat by combustion, supplying steam to Pulteney Distillery, heat to the local hospital and assembly rooms, as well as heating to around 250 homes and public buildings in the area. Initiated by the Highland Council, the original aim of the


scheme was to provide heating and hot water services to 500 homes in the town in a sustainable and cost-effective way.
