The brand won the SiGMA Africa Awards 2025, surpassing competitors in the ‘Best on Mobile 2025’ category. A panel of leading industry experts and a public vote on Africa’s most prestigious gambling awards platform determined 1xBet’s victory. The award ceremony occurred on March 10 at the Sun Exhibits at GrandWest Exhibition Center in Cape Town, South Africa, on the fi rst day of SiGMA Africa 2025.

FairPlay Sports Media strengthens leadership team
FairPlay Sports Media has added two senior executives to its leadership team in Jerome Underhill and Andrew Smith, joining as chief operating offi cer and chief fi nancial offi cer, respectively.
Following the successful recent launch of its FairPlay Technologies arm, Underhill and Smith have joined the group to lead the next phase of FairPlay’s growth as it looks to scale its product and betting technology suite across new and existing markets.
Jerome Underhill brings a wealth of operational expertise within the technology space, having progressed through senior roles at Xandr, Microsoft’s advertising and analytics subsidiary, most recently acting as its GM International

Andrew Smith joins with almost a decade of C-level fi nancial expertise within the igaming and technology industries, most recently as Playtech’s chief fi nancial offi cer, where he oversaw major fi nancial growth at the multi-national organisation. Smith will be tasked with driving growth at FairPlay Sports Media, ensuring a robust fi nancial performance that allows for investment in both product and its growing international operation.
