Beating Rising Warehouse Costs with Flexible Racking

Have you considered the impact of growth on your warehouse? It’s a goal most companies hope to reach, but for warehouses it can also prove problematic. A growth in sales usually requires additional storage space but this can come with a hefty price tag. Moving to bigger premises will come with increased rental costs, moving fees and that’s before purchasing new racking. Fortunately, paying to move is not the only solution and instead you can look at altering your

racking. For example, reduce racking aisle widths to increase the number of runs, incorporate alternative storage systems like push-back racking to double storage density within the same space or add mezzanine floors. With over 30 years’ working within the storage equipment industry, Teepee understands the challenges facing warehouse owners. If you’d like to find out how we can boost your warehouse, why not get in touch.

Five-year deal celebrates 17-year partnership with hygiene supplier

A Leicester logistics specialist has secured a milestone contract with the Midlands’ leading supplier of cleaning and hygiene products.

Translink Express Logistics Ltd has signed a new five-year contract worth £5 million to provide Ramon Hygiene with flexible and reliable logistics services throughout the UK.

The success of the long-term partnership is in large part due to Translink Express’ membership of the Pallet-Track network, which provides high quality services through its effective network of Shareholder Members.

The company now ships 100 to 150 fully tracked pallets per day to locations throughout the UK, including major supermarkets, wholesalers, and distribution centres.

Narborough-based Translink Express has also provided comprehensive warehousing solutions for Ramon Hygiene’s thousands of products since the partnership began in 2007.

The company is a family-owned and run business, which was founded in 1987 as a small parcel delivery company with just one vehicle and driver.

Translink Express also operates a second storage and distribution facility in Whetstone covering 62,000 sq. ft.

John Greenwood, director at Ramon Hygiene, which is also based in Leicester, said: “We are proud to call ourselves a community-spirited company and to work in partnership with local businesses like Translink Express.

“As a growing business, it is reassuring that they continue to provide us with excellent service from end to end.

“We have built a strong working relationship over the last 17 years, and we know we can trust the team with providing our customers with a reliable and cost-effective service.”

Chris Hobbis, director at Translink Express Logistics, said: “Our extensive UK coverage, facilitated by our partnership with Pallet-Track, ensures that we can deliver efficiently and effectively to any destination on behalf of Ramon Hygiene.

“Over the years, we have developed a profound understanding of their business, its needs, and the

team’s expectations, which has been instrumental in fostering a mutually beneficial working dynamic. “This is the largest contract in Translink’s history and enables us to tailor our services

effectively, ensuring we consistently meet and exceed Ramon’s expectations.

“The deal solidifies a committed future for both of our companies, ensuring a more stable and prosperous relationship than ever before. “We look forward to continuing our successful partnership, while driving mutual growth and

success.”

Stuart Godman, CEO at Pallet-Track, said: “This is exactly the type of partnership that Pallet-Track was built to support, and we are so pleased to see two local businesses working together to drive growth on a national level via our brilliant Shareholder Member network. Congratulations to both.”
