Babcock Wanson launches FM Pack Water Tube Boilers for high quality steam
Industrial process heating equipment and solutions specialist Babcock Wanson has launched the FM Pack range of Steam Water Tube Boilers, for steam outputs from 4.5 to 80 t/h. Suitable for applications requiring high steam output, high pressure steam or superheated steam, the FM Pack range provides high quality steam, from dry saturated to high temperature superheated and, due to the heat exchanger design, have the ability to provide very high operating pressures, from 10 to 95 barg. Babcock Wanson has designed these latest Steam Water Tube Boilers for optimum efficiency,
durability and longevity. The casing is pressurised to maintain the flue gas outlet temperature, avoiding corrosion risk due to condensation, plus there is a complete separation between tubes and casing and minimal refractory components

Ingram Micro Logistics has upgraded the materials handling systems at its extensive Daventry warehouse facility with the introduction of electric-powered articulated Flexi StorMAX two-deep pallet picking and put-away technology from Narrow Aisle.
New sustainable packaging from Bell for 2023
Following the successful introduction of presentation packaging made using polymers recovered from beaches and riverbanks, Bell are delighted to announce a new grade of PET presentation packaging which contains 100% post-consumer waste. The standard recycled content for our Retran®
product is 70%. The move to 100% has been a challenge and by being more selective about the consumer waste and using good grade discarded bottles, sandwich and food containers we have achieved an excellent clarity solution. The new polymer can be used to produce formings, presentation folding boxes as well as the world famous Retran® tubing which is widely used to present hardware, DIY and sporting products.

With their ability to move around the warehouse easily and put away and retrieve full palletised loads from Ingram Micro’s two-deep very narrow aisle racking layouts, the Flexi StorMAX models have increased pallet movements at the Daventry site by 25 per cent per truck.
The introduction of Flexi StorMAX articulated trucks also means that Ingram Micro – which
provides supply chain services for a range of diverse companies across the ‘tech’ manufacturing sector – is no longer ‘double handling’ loads, while valuable additional storage space has been created by eliminating the need for ‘pick and deposit’ stations at the end of the aisles.
Ingram Micro’s new Flexi Truck articulated warehouse trucks have been supplied on an easy to manage contract hire agreement with inclusive service and maintenance support, which provides the assurance of fixed costs and optimum truck uptime over a five-year period.
Narrow Aisle’s Managing Director, John Maguire, commented: “The Flexi Truck range offers logistics service provides many alternative solutions for warehousing needs. In this instance fast throughput capability and maximum storage density are required.
“Ingram Micro is benefiting from the space and throughput efficiency that Flexi StorMAX Truck technology brings and we are delighted to be working with the company for many years to come.”

TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION Versatility spells BEC
Companies aiming to automate cartoning have something to look forward to: Kliklok, a Syntegon company, launches its popular endload cartoner BEC with upgraded functionalities. The entry-level machine, which will be on display at this year’s interpack, targets mid-sized companies that seek to automate production. Its recent upgrade includes servo motors instead of mechanical drive technology – a key requirement for stable processes. In addition, the BEC’s frame has been redesigned, reducing its footprint while still offering an accessible, operator friendly layout in a hygienic stainless-steel execution (IP54). Beckhoff controls in discrete CPU boxes allow for simple cabling without electrical cabinets, leading to a compact overall layout. The integrated Human Machine Interface (HMI) 4.0 offers secure connectivity with Syntegon’s own Digital Service portfolio to support growing companies in their quest to achieve ever higher levels of OEE.
